Visitation Reminder: May 6th, 2022

Posted on:

Dear Patients and Families:

We are pleased to see an increase in visitors in the Center over the past several months. Patients and staff greatly benefit from in-person interactions with visitors and family members. While mask mandates are no longer prevalent in most cases, I want to remind everyone that nursing facilities continue to have COVID-19 infection prevention and control measures that are required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The infection prevention and control principles include screening for symptoms of COVID-19 and a temperature check upon entry to Center, performing hand hygiene, practicing social distancing from other patients and staff members, and the requirement to wear a mask in common areas or group settings. The mask requirement includes children ages 2 and above. If visiting in a private area with a patient, the patient and visitors may choose to remove their masks during the visit; however, masks must be appropriately worn covering the nose and mouth while in common areas or group settings. The Center is required to enforce these infection prevention and control measures, and any visitor who is not able to comply with these requirements will be asked to leave the Center. Outdoor visitation continues to be an available option for visitation in most cases, particularly for small children or for individuals who would like to exercise their rights to not wear a mask.

We appreciate your cooperation with the Center’s enforcement of the above-mentioned requirements, and we will continue to work with patients and visitors on visitation requests. Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

On behalf of the Center, we wish all mothers a very happy Mother’s Day.

Sincerely,

Stacy Taylor, RN, BSN, LNHA
