During her ten years as a CNA, she thoroughly enjoyed the interaction/care with the patients. She understands the hard work and devotion it takes to be a CNA, especially while working in a hospital setting. Ms. Morefield continued to work in various other fields and spent over 20 years working with Mary Kay and Avon, but her true passion was being a nursing assistant.
As we spent time visiting, Ms. Morefield reminisced about working with Avon – as a representative – she would go door-to-door, call on businesses, pack the orders, and then deliver to their houses or businesses. When a person reached their sales goals, Avon would have a celebration dinner, publicly recognize the representative, and award prizes such as TVs, appliances, and jewelry.
Since retirement, she has enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, which consists of 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Ms. Morefield stated her son and daughter-in-law are available to assist her and check on her daily. She is so thankful to have family and friends.
She has been happy with the kind, caring, and compassionate treatment she has received at Abingdon Health & Rehab Center. She feels that some of the staff have become her friends during this journey, and she will always treasure those memories.
