“My entire family is very grateful for your outstanding staff and their wonderful care for my Daddy. “
-Yvonne Clark

Abingdon Health and Rehab Center is honored to have Dr. Samuel Clark spend time at our facility while recovering from a recent hospital stay.  Dr. Clark was a pharmacist, cattle farmer, long time hunter, and a golfer.  He is an Abingdon native born in 1930.  Since 1961, he has made his home in Glade Spring.  Along the way, he has lived in Norfolk, Charlotte, and Richmond.  For 4 years, he called the Atlantic Ocean home while serving on board the USS Sanborn during the Korean War.  After the service, he and his wife, Joan, raised 5 children in Washington, County.  For over 40 years, he owned and operated Clark’s Pharmacy in Saltville, Virginia, and later, a second location in Glade Spring.  After pharmacy, he turned to farming, keeping as many as 150 Angus cattle on his farm near Chilhowie.

Dr. Clark and his family are very grateful for the excellent care and rehab services he recently received while recovering at Abingdon Health and Rehab Center.  His youngest daughter, Jill Hutton is an LPN on our staff here at Abingdon.  In addition, her daughter Kelly is also on the staff and plans to enter nursing school in the near future.
