Resident of the Month- Mr. Neese

“Abingdon Health and Rehab Center is such a special place with fantastic people, who are committed to the residents.”

Mr. Neese, Jr. age 93, is a lifelong resident of Washington County, VA.  His home is on Lee highway about 3 miles from Abingdon Health and Rehab Center.  Mr. Neese worked at the Pet Milk plant in Abingdon for 27 years.  After the plant closed, he drove a school bus for Washington County Schools for 17 years.  He is a “sports lover,”, especially for Patrick Henry High School (where he drove many of the sports teams), Galax High School (where his daughter coached Volleyball and Track for 31 years), and Emory & Henry College (where his daughter played volleyball and his grandson played football).

Mr. Neese and his daughter are very appreciative of having a “home away from home” at Abingdon Health & Rehab Center.  He has actually been a resident three times.  His only daughter, Rose, has high praise for the Center:

“The entire staff is so very helpful, friendly, and caring,” says Mrs. Houk.  The Administrators go ‘far beyond their call of duty.’  The entire staff makes me feel like family every time I walk in the building.  The building and grounds are always nicely decorated for the holiday season.  They also have lots of special events there and invite families to attend.  Abingdon Health and Rehab Center is such a special place with fantastic people who are committed to the residents.  My dad and I are grateful for the wonderful experience we have had at Abingdon Health & Rehab Center.  It has made a big difference in my Dad’s life.

Thank you, Abingdon Health &Rehab Center.”
